Escalator Demolition at Parkmore Shopping Centre

With Parkmore Shopping Centre upgrading their accessibility and shopper experience, we were engaged to demolish the existing escalators. Due to regular trading hours, noisy works were restricted to nights. Separation of existing concrete slab at either end of the escalators was required so the escalators could be lowered and removed. In preparation for the new escalators, the existing concrete escalator motor pit needed to be extended. Strategic Demolition used 2.5-3tonne Excavators with hammer attachment to demolish the concrete and due to limited space, a forklift and kibble bin were used to remove all materials.
